Overview

The Truck Driver plays a crucial role in supporting the warehouse operations of the company. Success in this position entails safely and efficiently transporting construction materials and equipment to and from job sites, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of professionalism. As a truck driver, you will contribute to the overall success of our organization by facilitating the smooth flow of materials and supplies, supporting project timelines, and upholding our commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a variety of trucks, including flatbeds and dump trucks, to transport construction materials and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving, ensuring the security of cargo and the safety of oneself and others on the road.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and its load, reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel for maintenance or repair.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure the safe handling and placement of items.
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of tool inventory by meticulously documenting check-ins and check-outs.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational level.
  • Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in the construction or logistics industry.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of applicable traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ability to operate and maneuver trucks of varying sizes and types.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with warehouse personnel, field team members, and clients.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform loading and unloading tasks, as well as the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the secure and accurate transport of materials.
  • Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks and the ability to perform minor repairs on trucks, if necessary.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable sitting for extended periods while driving to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
  • Adequate visual acuity (normal or corrected) to ensure clear vision for safe driving, accurate handling of materials, and vigilant monitoring of surroundings, enhancing overall safety on the road.
  • Demonstrated physical stamina and strength to effectively handle loading and unloading tasks, while also being adaptable to work in diverse weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting, loading, and unloading materials with the ability to handle weights of up to 100 lbs.
  • Adequate physical fitness to push objects weighing up to 200 lbs.
  • Ability to enter and exit equipment and trucks by utilizing standard techniques, including stepping and kneeling.
