Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will have the opportunity to oversee a diverse range of projects at various stages of completion, starting from bid summary delivery to final walkthrough. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that project execution aligns with the high standards set by the company. We are seeking an ideal candidate who is decisive, prioritizes safety, and is driven to achieve exceptional results. The Assistant Project Manager must possess the ability to hold themselves and their team accountable, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in developing annual company goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with overall organizational strategy.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and teamwork among project teams.
  • Review and evaluate purchase orders, submittals, and contracts, maintaining a comprehensive change order log to track modifications.
  • Manage project billing for all active jobs, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing until the end of the period.
  • Process time and material vouchers, accurately documenting and tracking project-related expenses.
  • Develop Method of Procedures (MOPs) in a timely manner, providing clear and detailed instructions for project execution.
  • Monitor and track project progress against established milestones, taking proactive measures to address any delays or issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective communication regarding project status, changes, and updates.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, address concerns, and provide guidance to the project team.
  • Continuously assess and improve project management processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the electrical contracting industry, with a focus on project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large commercial projects across diverse sectors, showcasing the ability to handle complex and multifaceted projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including construction processes, codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Previous experience in electrical estimating, with the ability to accurately assess project costs and prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with software such as Viewpoint, Cosential, and McCormick is highly desirable.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to take decisive actions when needed.
  • Deep commitment to safety, promoting a zero-incident mindset and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving project goals and exceeding client expectations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and standards related to project management.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) and knowledge of electrical construction are advantageous.
