Talent Acquisition Specialist 

 

Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a pivotal role in our organization’s growth by sourcing, attracting, and hiring skilled craft professionals while also providing support for corporate hiring needs as required. This position will require a passion for recruiting, a deep understanding of the electrical or construction industry, and the ability to connect and build relationships with top talent. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the field recruitment and sourcing processes and strategies based on the available talent, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Conduct phone screens with applicants and select qualified candidates.
  • Schedule interviews; oversees preparation of the interview including written and hands on assessments.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with hiring managers.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers and human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details. 
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions along with hiring criteria. 
  • Assists with job posting and job advertisement process.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employments laws and regulations, and compliancy policies.
  • Develops, facilitates, and implements initiatives and processes to retain top talent.
  • Attends and participates in career fairs and other recruiting events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred, but not required.
  • At least 2 years' experience with high-volume recruiting in construction is highly preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software and other sourcing tools such as but not limited to Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, etc. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative. 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • SHRM's Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to lift 30 pounds.
