Overview

The Preconstruction Manager is pivotal in steering the preconstruction process from initial concept to the start of construction. This role demands extensive knowledge of electrical construction processes, including a strong emphasis on business development to drive new business opportunities. The Preconstruction Manager will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to deliver precise project estimates, budgets, and innovative solutions, ensuring the successful acquisition of new projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the preconstruction process, including project estimating, budgeting, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to secure new business opportunities and expand the company's market presence.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to deliver innovative and cost-effective project solutions.
  • Mentor and guide a team of estimators and preconstruction staff, ensuring the accuracy of budgets and estimates while fostering professional growth within the team.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team to allocate adequate manpower for projects and identify potential gaps in resource availability.
  • Participate in business development activities, such as proposal writing, client presentations, and networking events.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience in preconstruction management or project management within the electrical construction industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex and high-profile electrical construction projects.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a proven track record of mentoring and developing team members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams and clients.
  • Proficiency in preconstruction software and estimating tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative project solutions.
  • Passion for the electrical construction industry and staying updated with emerging trends and technologies.
