Estimator

 

Overview

The Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating project costs and preparing bids for electrical construction projects. Success in this position requires a strong understanding of electrical construction, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the scope of work and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs using established procedures and tools, such as Microsoft Excl, Microsoft Word, McCormick/Accubid.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and refine project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Participate in bid presentations and negotiate with clients to secure contracts for electrical construction projects.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by serving as their primary point of contact and building trust through regular communication and follow-up.
  • Manage client expectations by setting clear timelines, deliverables, and communication protocols.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5 plus years of experience in estimating electrical construction projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical data and translate it into accurate project estimates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Accubid, McCormick, Microsoft Office suite, etc.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
